Language Service Provider Industry Veteran Peter Reynolds Joins Idiom Management Team
Former Lionbridge, BGS, Berlitz Executive to Head WorldServer LSP Advantage Program
Waltham, Mass., USA - May 30, 2006 - Idiom
® Technologies, Inc. (Idiom), the leading independent provider of scalable software solutions for accelerating and optimizing globalization initiatives, today announced it has appointed Peter Reynolds as director of the company's WorldServer LSP Advantage Program — a rapidly growing partner program dedicated to the software technology platform needs of Language Service Providers (LSPs). Reynolds brings more than 10 years of experience in the translation services industry, having served in a variety of technical and management roles with some of the world's largest and most successful service providers including Lionbridge Technologies, Inc. (Nasdaq:LIOX), Bowne Global Solutions (BGS) and Berlitz International.
"Since launching the LSP Advantage Program nearly a year ago, we've learned a great deal about the intersection of translation services and globalization management systems," said Eric Silberstein, founder and CTO, Idiom Technologies. "We are very committed to our global enterprise customers who demand freedom of choice when it comes to being able to work with multiple LSP partners. The strategic relationships we've built with the industry's more innovative LSPs give our customers that freedom. Peter's experience, commitment and drive will help us to propel our program and product to the next level."
Reynolds comes to Idiom from Lionbridge, where he was the software development manager for the company's Dublin-based R&D team. Among other things, his team was responsible for development of the company's recently introduced Freeway 2.0 offering. He holds an MBA and Bachelor of Science with honors from The Open University (UK).
In his new role with Idiom, Reynolds will leverage his technology and business acumen to accelerate and support LSP adoption of the WorldServer GMS (globalization management system) platform. In addition, he will remain actively involved in the development and support of several directly relevant industry standards such as XLIFF and Translation Web Services — both managed under the auspices of OASIS, the Organization for the Advancement of Structured Information Standards. He is secretary of the OASIS technical committee for XLIFF and chair of the Translation Web Services Technical Committee.
"After evaluating and comparing LSP programs and solutions from a number of vendors we concluded Idiom offered the most flexible program and a superior technology platform," said Michael Marsan, CEO, New Market Translations. "Peter, a well known industry veteran, is a great addition to the Idiom LSP team and the company's decision to hire him in this role is another clear demonstration of the value it places on its LSP partnerships."
Idiom Expands European OperationsReynolds, a native and lifelong resident of Ireland will direct the WorldServer LSP Advantage Program from Dublin where a large number of global enterprises base their European translation and localization operations. While his new responsibilities are global in nature, he joins a growing Idiom European operation, headquartered in London.
