Idiom Technologies Announces Enhancements To Worldserver Globalization Software Platform

An Industry First, WorldServer Will Offer Support for Japanese as a Source Language

Waltham, Massachusetts, USA - November 14, 2006 - Idiom® Technologies, Inc. (Idiom), the leading independent provider of scalable software solutions for accelerating and optimizing globalization initiatives, today announced significant enhancements to its WorldServer™ product family, including new versions of the company's award-winning WorldServer globalization management system (GMS) and WorldServer™ Desktop Workbench, a Windows-based desktop computer aided translation (CAT) tool. The new version of the WorldServer GMS platform offers support for Japanese as a source language, signifying the first time that any GMS software solution is enabling translation from Japanese to other languages. The new version of WorldServer Desktop Workbench features open standards support, tighter integration with WorldServer and better overall usability.

Support for Japanese source language - Made possible through the introduction of a new word-breaking algorithm that handles Japanese source text.
Japanese localized user interface - Fully Japanese localized user interface and online help.
Personal Preference feature - WorldServer users have a new Personal Preference that allows them to control the "Display Language" of the WorldServer user interface. Each user in the system can have his/her own personal preference, allowing some users to work with the system in English while others work in Japanese.

Support for Microsoft(R) Office Spell Checking - Desktop Workbench now offers two spell checking options: a built-in engine with customizable dictionaries or Microsoft Office Spell Checking Engine. With the latter option, users can leverage existing Microsoft Office dictionaries.
Support for XLIFF - and TBX-based translation kits - WorldServer will now offer support for a new open standards - based translation kit format called XLZ. Idiom is committed to embracing open standards and using these standards as the primary form of interchange between WorldServer instances or between Desktop Workbench and WorldServer.
Tighter integration with WorldServer - Desktop Workbench 8.0 includes many new features that provide tighter integration between the Workbench and WorldServer. These enhancements include segment locks from WorldServer that will be enforced in Desktop Workbench.
Focus on usability: Idiom has worked with several translation companies to improve the usability and efficiency of Desktop Workbench.
