Idiom Partners With Webmethods To Extend Global B2B Strategy
Alliance Enables Customers to Leverage Enterprise Infrastructures for International e-Business
Waltham, MA - January 23, 2001 - Idiom Technologies, Inc., the premier provider of e-business globalization solutions, today announced a partnership with webMethods, Inc. (Nasdaq: WEBM), the leading developer of business-to-business integration (B2Bi) solutions. This partnership will enable Idiom's B2B customers to easily integrate mission-critical systems with their global e-business applications and processes.
Under the terms of the agreement, Idiom's WorldServer™ Web globalization infrastructure software will support and integrate with webMethods Enterprise, an Enterprise Application Integration (EAI) solution. As Idiom's B2B customers expand and maintain their global Web presence, webMethods' integration platform will provide direct connectivity to a broad set of Web content stored in enterprise resource planning (ERP), customer relationship management (CRM), sales force automation (SFA), and other core enterprise systems through webMethods Enterprise Adapters.
"The partnership with webMethods further demonstrates Idiom's commitment to extending the scope of its B2B globalization strategy," said Fred Lizza, president and CEO of Idiom. "Many of our customers already use WorldServer in an enterprise setting to globalize their external e-businesses, extranets, and business exchanges. In doing so, they leverage WorldServer's support for enterprise databases like Oracle's, and powerful Web content servers offered by Vignette, Interwoven, and others. The webMethods partnership extends our support to include other critical enterprise content that our B2B customers must localize in order to meet their overall global business objectives."
"webMethods is committed to supporting companies on a global basis. Combined, the technologies will allow businesses to connect to customers and partners in multiple languages," said Loren Quaglieri, director of Platform Alliances for webMethods. "Partnering with Idiom is a natural step for us as our customers strive to take their e-businesses into global markets and at the same time increase ROI on their existing technology investments."
Idiom WorldServer will support webMethods Enterprise via its robust Web Content Interface (WCI). The WCI is central to WorldServer's open architecture and enables companies to leverage their existing enterprise architecture investments by working with Web content wherever it is stored without changing the underlying data structure or locations. WorldServer's WCI will integrate webMethods Enterprise Adapters to access information from enterprise application sources. Idiom will continue to build and enhance native connectors to content, commerce, and application servers, to guarantee optimal performance, full feature support, and robust access to those systems' resources.
