Go2Call Partners With Idiom, Inc. To Expand Global Internet Telephony Business
Go2Call Uses Idiom Technologies and Services to Assist with International Market Expansion
Waltham, MA - September 6, 2000 - Idiom Technologies, Inc., the premier provider of e-business globalization solutions, today announced that Go2Call, leading international PC-to-phone service provider, will engage Idiom to assist with its expansion efforts. Specifically, Go2Call will purchase and utilize Idiom's WorldServer™ globalization software as well as Idiom's technical implementation and translation services to create customized, local language versions of its site. The decision to utilize WorldServer is directly related to the results achieved during a Global Readiness Assessment® (GRA) test recently conducted by Idiom for Go2Call.
Go2Call offers free PC-to-phone calling service to a growing list of countries, including the US, Canada, the UK, Ireland and Germany. According to Larry Spear, Go2Call co-founder, the company's focus on international markets requires an optimization of the site for multi-lingual and multi-cultural capability. "Seventy-five percent of our user base resides outside of the United States. As we grow our business, we're developing products and services based on local needs that we'll introduce to our users around the world in multiple languages. Idiom's GRA and WorldServer services offer proven globalization technology to enhance our development process."
Added Fred Lizza, Idiom's president and CEO, "The e-business revolution is driving new ways of doing international business. Idiom's globalization software and services are helping Go2Call expand its international role in the growing Internet telephony market. For example, in utilizing our WorldServer software and our translation services, Go2Call gains a competitive advantage in addressing international customers in their own language and cultural preferences."
The Process of Going Global
Idiom's GRA helped Go2Call solidify its web globalization strategy and assess the business, technical, and procedural issues involved in establishing and maintaining a multi-national, multi-cultural Web presence. WorldServer's unique Business Rule Linkage™ will enable the company to establish and enforce business rules regarding sharing of content across multiple locales. This will also help Go2Call strike the balance between centralized control to ensure a powerful global brand and local content that more closely matches the market needs within each country. In addition, Go2Call will leverage Idiom's translation services to consistently manage the overall initiative content across international markets.
