Idiom Annual Product Advisory Council Details Significant Momentum And Previews Product Roadmap

Interactive Customer Presentations Create Open Forum for Attendees to Learn More About Maximizing WorldServer ROI

Waltham, Massachusetts, USA - June 22, 2005 - On June 7 and 8 in San Jose, California, Idiom® Technologies, Inc. (Idiom), the only enterprise software company to deliver advanced XML-based publishing and content globalization solutions, held its annual invitation-only Product Advisory Council meeting, its most successful to date. With an expanded agenda and a greater than 50 percent increase in attendance, Idiom noted a significantly increased interest in implementing cutting-edge XML publishing solutions.

Goals for the meeting included creating an interactive environment within which Idiom and its customers could collaborate and share their WorldServer™ experiences, and also provide feedback to Idiom on product status and direction. Even among those customers who are not yet using XML in their current content management initiatives, there was a high level of interest in accelerating the delivery of XML-based content by simplifying the creation, management, localization and production of print and electronic documents.

Executives and users from companies such as Oracle, Information Builders, Citrix Systems, McAfee, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Adobe, Symantec and eBay participated in several technical and management-oriented sessions. From these discussion groups, the most significant globalization and XML publishing concerns that arose were:

- How to master simultaneous shipment ("Sim Ship") or decrease the delta between the domestic launch and availability of international versions of software, documentation, marketing materials and website content

- How to achieve cost savings and decreased time-to-market benefits by using a centralized translation memory repository and better managed workflows

- How to capture ROI for globalization and XML publishing investments

- How to ensure performance and quality in rapid development and deadline-driven environments

A few of the most popular presentations included the "Engineering Update" and "Sneak Peek" by Idiom Vice President of Engineering Eric Richard as well as "Translation Memory 'Under the Hood'" by Principal Engineer Kevin Gillespie. There were also two panel discussions: a WorldServer Global Electronic Publishing customer panel, "Using XML for Information Development and Publishing" and a panel of Idiom experts, "Meet the Geeks," at which several audience members asked questions about WorldServer and suggested their favorite enhancements.

"This was our most productive and insightful Product Advisory Council meeting yet. It's always great to see enthusiasm about our products, but it's just as rewarding to learn about the challenges our partners and customers face, and how we can improve our solutions with that knowledge. It helps us meet our goal of constant refinement – which is how we've delivered our open architecture, workflow capabilities and ease of use – ranging from administration to customization functionality," said Bill Rabkin, senior technical evangelist and Product Advisory Council chair, Idiom Technologies, Inc. "Additionally, we are pleased to have helped our customers gain value from sharing lessons and best practices with their peers, and we're optimistic they'll take that knowledge back and it will have a positive impact on their globalization and XML publishing initiatives."
