WorldServer for Users
This workshop is a condensed training session that introduces the features and benefits of the current version of WorldServer (8.0.2), and provides familiarization with the user interface. At a high level, this workshop explores core components such as WorldServer workflow, projects, translation life cycle using translation memory and terminology databases, and other common user concepts. It also introduces the WorldServer Desktop Workbench translation tool for the Microsoft Windows platform.

Attendees will learn how to configure Desktop Workbench, manage WorldServer projects, perform segment translations, use the Auto Search window to incorporate translation memory and terminology database entries into segment translations, and exchange translation-kit files with WorldServer.

This workshop helps new or prospective end-users of WorldServer to understand how the product is used in day-to-day practice.

Audience: Project managers, localization managers, translators, reviewers

WorldServer for Administrators
This condensed training session introduces the administrative aspects of configuring and maintaining a WorldServer system through its user interface. This session covers creating users and groups, permissions, TM and TD individual and group setup, workflow editing, Business Rules, and other related configurations. It will also review debug and logging information, as well as Auto-Errors, and conceptually introduce common customizations that can be made.

Audience: New WorldServer administrators, super-users and developers

Customizing WorldServer with the Software Development Kit (SDK)
To provide WorldServer architects and users with a framework for building upon the foundations of Idiom WorldServer, this workshop begins with a non-technical overview of the WorldServer SDK and its components. At a high level, the remainder of this condensed training session addresses how to get started with the SDK, make use of SDK samples, the direction of the SDK, and relevant SDK Q&A from the participants.

This workshop is intended for WorldServer users and software developers who are exploring WorldServer customization possibilities to meet needs that may not be directly met out-of-box, and is a foundation for understanding and taking advantage of WorldServer flexibility. Experience with Java development and the WorldServer SDK is not required.

Audience: WorldServer users; software developers

WorldServer Translation Memory Overview
This workshop provides participants with an extensive overview of the WorldServer translation memory (TM) technology. While the focus will be covering the breadth of features and functionality, effort will be given to delve deeper into areas of particular interest of the participants, who are encouraged to ask questions about the topics being discussed throughout the entire workshop. At the end of the workshop, time is allotted to address topics and questions not covered earlier. The instructor uses live demonstrations to facilitate discussions. Both those with strong WorldServer TM experience and knowledge and those only casually familiar with TM technologies will benefit from this workshop. If time permits, the workshop will also explore machine translation (MT) technologies as they relate to WorldServer. Since each release of WorldServer includes advances in TM technology, there is always something new and exciting to learn.

Audience: Project managers, localization managers, WorldServer administrators, translators, developers

Managing Terminology with WorldServer
Come to this workshop to learn how to acquire, manage, and employ terminology with WorldServer 9. The emphasis is on how you can manage and maintain terminology within WorldServer. The instructor introduces the concept of term status and its central role in terminology management. You will learn how to use workflow with terminology and see how WorldServer simplifies submission and management of proposed terminology throughout the term lifecycle.

Audience: Terminologists, localization managers, project managers, WorldServer administrators

Advanced Overview of WorldServer 9
This session provides experienced WorldServer managers, developers, and users an opportunity to explore new and enhanced features of WorldServer 9 prior to its general availability. As the instructor briefly introduces each feature, attendees interact with these areas of WorldServer. Attendees will also have time to explore WorldServer 9 on their own.

Attendees are expected to have a solid understanding of existing WorldServer functionality as this class will focus on many of the differences between existing WorldServer versions and WorldServer 9, but will not provide background information on features.

Audience: Current WorldServer managers, developers, and users who would like a pre-release look at WorldServer 9
Please Note: This session will be a superset of the Introduction to WorldServer 9 session covering all of the same topics, in greater depth and at a faster pace. Therefore, attendees in this workshop should not also register for Introduction to WorldServer 9.

Introduction to WorldServer 9
This session provides users who are new to WorldServer an opportunity to explore new and enhanced features of WorldServer 9 prior to its general availability. As the instructor briefly introduces each feature, attendees interact with these areas of WorldServer. Attendees will also have time to explore WorldServer 9 on their own.

This session does not assume a deep understanding of existing WorldServer functionality and will provide more background and foundational content when describing each new feature.

Audience: Current WorldServer users or new users who would like a pre-release look at WorldServer 9

Please Note: This session will be a subset of the Advanced Overview of WorldServer 9 session covering some of the same topics, but at a slower pace. Therefore, attendees in this workshop should not also register for Advanced Overview of WorldServer 9.

TransPort - Configuring the New WorldServer Translation Portal
